The Romance Studio's review of
Law Breakers and Love Makers
Toni Noel
Romantic Suspense
October 2010
Zoe Westmore is at a turning point in her life when her parents call her to housesit while they go to Europe. She hopes it will improve her relationship with her father if she does well and her job isn't as satisfying as it used to be. As much as she wants to please her father, it seems likes she's off to a bad start when she sets off the alarms getting police and security people there several times the first day. Her ex boyfriend, Jon Sutherland, who left her without explanation in high school, wants to please her father for a different reason. Both seem destined to fail when murder and mayhem confront them on a daily basis.
Toni Noel pens a great love story with some breathtaking suspense thrown in. What could be better than high speed chases, things that go bump in the night and a renewal of romance? Throw in a cat named Stalker, a dog named Boomer and a parrot named Pete who's addicted to westerns. You have a story that will keep you smiling when the suspense doesn't chill you to the bone.
The author has a way with words that seems to bring the scenarios to life in a refreshing way. She has a wry sense of humor that mixes in some names of characters that, to me, are reminiscent of some old, favored sitcoms. It always brings a smile when Barney, the security man appears. Radar is nothing like his namesake but the use of the name is usually a precursor to some sexy fun. Toni Noel is an author I want to read more from.

Law Breakers and Love Makers perfectly showcases Toni Noel's original and entertaining writing style. Heroine Zoe Westmore, returned to her hometown to house-sit for her parents, learns that she has more strength and courage than she thought. During the adventures transpiring in her parents' neighborhood in their absence, Zoe realizes she is worthy of the love and respect that she did not believe was her due from her father or Jon Sutherland, her first love. Together she and Jon, now a detective, unravel mysterious and deadly events, and confront the reasons behind their interrupted love. Unique, individual characters working out real issues in their relationships, with human reactions and feelings -- always guaranteed in Toni Noel's stories.

Law Breakers and Love Makers. Wow! Sex and murder and intrigue, and did I mention sex, all in this delightful and entertaining, fast reading, pure fun story woven by that dubious vixen from San Diego, Toni Noel. Advice: Sit down and plan on reading it straight through without stopping. That way you can keep track of the exploits of Zoe and Jon. Reviewed by Al Weber
