Fragile Bonds Toni Noel Desert Breeze March 2013 Dawn’s family was whisked away and she lost all contact with her life-long love, Rick. Fifteen years have passed and she is having major turmoil with her teenage daughter. Her lost love, Rick, shows up as the inspector for her new job. He doesn’t know about his daughter and Dawn is afraid to tell him for fear she will lose her daughter. He finds out in a most author-clever way. The former lovers have to unravel the ravages of time and secrets to find their happy future together. This is a flowing story of love redeemed when time and external events have carved out a huge gulf between the hero and heroine. Sneak Peeks “Just when her green eyes started to lighten with pleasure, they’d darkened, like the sun suddenly blocked by a cloud. Her mouth. The heart shaped upper lip he’d teased her about so often, now sat squarely on her lower lip, the lower half of the tempting heart flattened into a hard, straight line.” (p. 106-107) “Lately it seemed to her a mother’s duty was to set the pot to boil, not just to stir the stew.” (p. 154) “I told her [the daughter] the fragile bond forged by a couple when they make love should not be taken lightly. The bond can sometimes be stronger than steel, and without love, it might be better to wait on intimacy.” (p. 447)
